So it’s that time again… Favorite Finds Friday. I’ll be sharing a few of my favorite things here again this week.
I have written on my love for homeopathy here a few times and about the fact that I have always been drawn to alternative health and wellness. Today I will be switching gears and sharing about my favorite essential oils.
I used to really be into essential oils years ago when I first started working in the wellness industry. But I quickly moved into the medical arena. Unfortunately essential oils, and the like, were exchanged for pharmaceuticals. Long story, but lets just say, big mistake.
The resurgence in popularity of essential oils has rekindled my interest in them and I have really fallen in love with a few. So which ones am I loving right now?
First off Peppermint.
Oh lovely peppermint, how I wouldn’t be able to make it through the day without you. I use this baby daily.
Do you need a pick me up? Are you dragging in the afternoons? Use peppermint oil!
I put a few drops in an inhaler stick and take a long inhale through each nostril and in about 10 minutes I perk right up. No caffeine. No extra calories. No drugs.
Some of the benefits of peppermint are:
- It’s stimulating
- Fights fatigue
- Aids in digestion
Another favorite of mine right now is Calming blend by Native American Nutritionals.
Calming blend is comparable to some of the big name brands blends of Serenity or Peace and Calming. I put a little carrier oil in a roller bottle and add about 30 drops of Calming. Roll it on the bottom of your feet before bed AND sleep like a baby. Who doesn’t love that or want that?!
So what oils make up Calming blend?
- Ylang Ylang Complete
- Blue Tansy
What are the some of the specific benefits of Calming blend?
- Promotes relaxation
- Helps with insomnia
- Balances emotions
- Diminishes depression and anxiety
I use a few other essential oils, but not as regularly as I do these. I use peppermint almost daily and Calming 3-4 times a week. Do you use essential oils? What are some of your favorites?
*For the record I have no formal education on essential oils. I just want to share what I’m really enjoying at the moment and what is working for me. This is with the hopes that you may find the same results and enjoyment from them.
